Our Story

September 21st, 2025, 8:47 in the evening, Hôtel Balzac, Paris

It’s raining outside.

I’m writing this from a small table at my room in Hôtel Balzac, with Paris moving quietly outside the window.

There is something about being here that makes you think differently about travel.

Not about where you are going.

But about how you arrive and who you're becoming.

Perhaps that is why I have always felt that luggage should be more than something practical.

It is the first thing you carry when you leave home, and often the last thing you see before returning to it.

It travels with you through airports at five in the morning, through hotel lobbies, train stations, cobblestone streets and unfamiliar cities.

It becomes part of the journey.

And we wanted to create something worthy of that.

That was the beginning of Altè.

Two brothers growing up between Finland and Italy who wanted to create a brand house of European heritage built around the idea that travel can still have character.

From the beginning, we also made one decision that has become increasingly important to us:

Altè will never be everywhere.

We will release our pieces in small drops rather than keeping an endless supply online.

This is how we can remain closer to you and give you the service you deserve.

Every collection is produced in a limited quantity.

When a drop is gone, it is gone.

There are people who still appreciate discovering something before everyone else does.

People who would rather own fewer things, but choose them carefully.

That is the community we want to build.

And that is what Altè Club is becoming.

A small circle of people who understand the feeling behind the brand — the morning coffee before a flight, the quiet hotel lobby, the perfectly packed case, the anticipation of somewhere new.

Paris is a fitting place to write this.

The city has always understood that elegance does not need to announce itself.

It can be found in the details.

So, wherever your next journey takes you, I hope one of our pieces eventually finds its way beside you.

And when it does, I hope it becomes more than luggage.

Yours,

Ricardo | Altè
